IM Design Studio — a website for an architecture practice

The home page is a slider where each project comes with the idea behind it — the simplicity of the forms, the line between privacy and shared living, weaving the landscape into everyday life — and with a direct link to the work. The idea comes before the image because that is what gets asked in the first conversation: why does it look like that, not just how it looks. The rest of the page runs in short sections, with the menu staying in view.

The projects are split across nine categories — cultural, educational, interior design, landscape, mixed use, residential, commercial, sport and competitions — with filters, so there is no need to scroll to the bottom. Every job has its own page, from the Dacia Cinema and Ineu Fortress to the dual education campus in Brașov and the landscaping of the park at the CUG lake. The categories appear in the menu too, so a link can be sent straight to the type of project that interests somebody.

The team is listed with names and roles, from the coordinators through to the architects in the department and the interns, followed by the list of engineering collaborators. The press section gathers the articles their projects appeared in, with a link to the publication. The careers page has its own form, with CV upload by drag and drop, so applications come in structured rather than scattered across email.

The site is in English and Romanian, with a switch at the top of the page. We kept English as the default, because the practice also enters competitions and collaborations outside the country. Both bases, the one in Iași and the Bucharest office, appear in the footer on every page.
